Zune 2 Supports Full DVD Output

Add

ZuneInsider reports Zune 2 will import 720×576 @ 25fps and 720×480 @ 30 fps without transcoding. Although Zune’s screen is 320×240 the TV out will show videos in full, DVD Quality on the TV.

Some people are arguing that this feature will be available in original Zune too, because of the firmware update 2.1. Right now it is only confirmed for Zune 2, so lets cross our fingers and pray for those who own the original Zune. Microsoft don’t want to destroy their customer base, and are aiming for 2nd spot in Multimedia player market by July,2008.

Also Zune 2 supports H.264 and MPEG4 video codecs additionally to WMV.

Hey, I own the 1st version of Zune, i.e. 30GB. It syncs wireless only with other Zune. With a firmware upgrade, will I be able to use the Wireless with my home network?

I’m not totally sure, but you should be able to do it if the Zune 2 does it. Cause from what I’ve heard MS is making sure the Current Zune owners don’t feel disappointed.
